Headlines
So here are some more headlines that stuck out at me today:
Second-Grader Swims From Alcatraz: Good Lord! Where were this child's parents and why weren't they taken into custody for child endangerment?? Here's what the mother had to say about the event: Braxton's mother, Stacey Bilbrey, wasn't originally sold on the idea of the swim, but she accepted it once the boy proved his dedication, training two hours a day, four times a week.
"Any time a 7-year-old has that strong of a desire, as long as it's a good desire, you should support it," she said. "He's worked hard for it."
I know a 7 year old that could candy two hours a day, four times a week, but I'm not going to LET HIM! For the love of pete!
Social Security Numbers for Millions of Veterans Stolen From V.A. Official's Home: For shame! That's like stealing from church or the Salvation army bell ringer at Christmas.. I'd say unless that guy repents, he's driving the bus straight to hell! But, thank God that's not my place to judge..
Wife Dead, Husband on Trial, After Dirty-Dishes Argument: This one is for my good friend PK... We ( as in the bloggers who adore his site) debated the issue of who should clean the dishes after his wife's office party... I'm pretty sure he relented and washed them...
South Carolina Students Protest School's Confederate Clothing Ban: This has always been a thorn in my side... I am from the South and I am proud of my heritage... Contrary to popular belief, the Civil War was not ALL about slavery, it was about state's rights and it is a battle that continues today, just not on such a grand scale... Let these kids wear the confederate flags!
From the FoxNews Website:
Among those marching with Candice was a black man, H.K. Edgerton, board chairman of the Southern Legal Resource Center, the group that filed a federal lawsuit in March on her behalf.
"She's made a stand for her Southland," said Edgerton. A former local leader of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in North Carolina, he is known for dressing up in Confederate gear to emphasize what he describes as the role blacks played in voluntarily supporting the South in the Civil War.
AMEN..
